February Happenings

Welcome friends! I have some fun news in store for all of you–including in-person events, a Deluxe Special Edition and Kickstarter as well as an audiobook in the works for 2026!

This month started out with the excitement that my daughter is getting married! I am so thrilled for her and her wonderful fiance! So much of my time is already getting pulled into wedding planning and I wouldn’t have it any other way! With working part-time, writing part-time, and being a mom of 4, there’s no rest–and I also wouldn’t have it any other way!

With every new year, there is new hope and anticipation for things to come.

I haven’t always been a big planner, more of a pantser in my daily life than anything. But, with growing anxiety, I am learning that, for me, I need to make lists to manage every day and long term goals. I am a huge list person now! And I’ve learned the more I plan, the calmer I feel. It’s been a huge relief when I have so many moving projects. 

My favorite app this year is the “Tasks” app. It works so well with my gmail and google calendar. I have a bunch of different lists of tasks and times and dates. I put the little things that pop into my head throughout the day in there. Checking things off the list is a stupid little joy that I love. Don’t come at me! 🙂

So, with my love for lists in mind, here is my 🎉 exciting announcement list for 2026!

1. I am planning a Deluxe Special Edition of my book, Christmas with the Elf King! This will be featuring pieces from three artists I admire greatly!

   • Cover art, gold foil, and sprayed edges by @coversbyaura

   • Two unique end pages by @themoonborn.illustrations

   • Incredible character art by @muni_luny

I have already seen the finished artwork by @muni_luny and let’s just say–you’re not ready!!!! 🫠

2. This deluxe special edition will be a part of my first ever Kickstarter! My Kickstarter will launch in July/August! Stay tuned in for details on that to come!

   
   

3. An audiobook of Christmas with the Elf King is in production! After listening to over 60 auditions, one stood out far and above. I am OBSESSED with the incredible narrator Pagan McGrath, who is the perfect cozy and sweet that I was listening for.

   
   

4. I will be doing an in-person event this year April 17th and 18th in Sandy, UT at Romance Out West! A super cute romance convention. I can’t wait to meet up with some friends in person!

   
   

5. Secret Project! I’m no Brandon Sanderson, but I have been immersing myself in this super fun secret project–set in theUndying Lands of Ravensong. Stay tuned in for more info on that.

   
   

Looking back on 2025- 

My first year self-publishing was full of so many ups and downs, but I learned that I can do it. I figured things out the hard way, through mistakes and asking my more experienced friends, but I did it. My book became a huge success. For those curious, here are some stats!

• Thousands of readers worldwide, from Australia to Japan to Germany!

• Almost 1,000,000 pages read in Kindle Unlimited in just 3 months!

• The highest number of pages read in one day was 31,044! For a roughly 300 page book, that number means hundreds of readers in one day.

• Christmas with the Elf King stayed at #1 for 4 weeks straight. Many times with all three categories at #1. This was in very competitive categories against incredible books with huge readerships! I was very honored to be up there among them.
