Below is the big cover reveal for the deluxe special edition of “Christmas with the Elf King” by @selkkiedesigns as well as a first look at end page 1 illustration by @themoonborn.illustrations. This is my first ever Kickstarter and the prospect of juggling all the things has me excited and stressed beyond all reason, but I know that with your support we can make this happen!

Why a deluxe special edition?

You asked and I want to deliver! 

I cannot even tell you how many messages I received from readers about how much they loved this book! So many wondered if I would be making a special edition. A special edition has always been a HUGE dream of mine. I marvelled jealously at the shiny gold foiling, intricate art, and custom character art scenes of so many beautiful books, but never thought it would be possible for me. But, after a lot of thought and with the help of Kickstarter–I know we can make this dream a reality!

Why Kickstarter?

No, this is not some kind of Go Fund Me. Kickstarter is a way for authors and other creatives to fund amazing projects that you will actually hold in your hand that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. My marketing, publishing, and financing team all come from one person–me! I love to support incredible artists, as well as support my own author business, but in order to put together a project like a deluxe special edition, I need funds. Kickstarter is unique, in that no one gets charged unless we hit our funding goal–then it’s all fun times from there--and you get exclusive stuff!

I want to support real live artists, not AI. I have enlisted the incredible talents of several artists to bring this vision to life:

• Special edition hardcovers will have foiled hard cases, foiled dust jackets, and sprayed edges by @Selkkiedesigns. 

• Custom character endpaper designs by @themoonborn.illustrations. 

• Character art by muni_luny.

Now: We are in the prelaunch stage. I need as many people to follow this project as possible! Tell your no-spice romance loving friends! This is a special Lord of the Rings inspired Christmas book that will have you and your teen swooning! (it is absolutely appropriate for teens!) As we gain more followers, we can unlock more sneak peaks into the final completed deluxe special edition.

July: July 27th is the goal I have set for launch. This means the reward tiers will be ready for your pledges! Look for my big early bird discount available for only the first 24hrs. You won’t get charged unless the project funds. The project will be up for 30 days. Hopefully we will hit our funding goal and unlock some fun extra rewards along the way! August-September: I’ll spend the next few months ordering the books and swag from various vendors and prep for delivery

October: The dream is to have the books in your hand by October, just in time for the Christmas season!

Clean up:

My book is also been going through a fine tooth comb with the help of editor Laura Drake. She is helping to find any small repetitions or mistakes and clean it up! This version will be perfect swoony happiness!
